T.Shettalli Suggi Devara Kadu( Sacred Forest) President A.K. Machaiah alleged that the Devara Kadu’s are being encroached upon by powerful individuals and that the Forest Department is turning a blind eye to the encroachments. He told reporters here on Monday that the Devera Kadu’s has 99.83 acres under survey number 2/1, of which around 20 acres have been encroached. He warned of a severe protest on August 2nd, if the authorities failled to evict the encroachers.
