Committee formed to look into the chapter on Tipu Sultan

Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has formed a committee to submit a report regarding a chapter on Tipu Sultan.
Madikeri MLA Appachu Ranjan had requested the education minister S Suresh kumar to have the chapter removed.
CM Yeddyurappa said that based on the committee’s report a decision will be taken. Read More

Madikeri Fort & Palace Restoration: High Court orders contempt petition against officials

The Karnataka High Court has expressed its displeasure over the neglect of the historic Madikeri Fort and has directed the Government Advocate to register a Contempt of Court Case against officials for not obeying Court directives.

Some hope about Kodava Heritage Centre and Museum at Madikeri

Works remain incomplete even after eight years
The ‘Kodava Heritage Centre,’  at Madikeri, envisaged by the Government in 2009-10 for introducing the unique Ainmane tradition of Kodavas with a Museum, is now in a limbo.
When the project was envisaged in 2009-10, the cost of the project was estimated at Rs. 1.45 crore, but now the estimate has almost doubled to Rs. 2.68 crore. Read More
