Mysuru-Coorg LS Constituency Has 18,95,056 Voters And 2,187 Booths

The District Administrations of Mysuru and Coorg have made adequate arrangements for the LS elections to be held in the Twin Constituency on Apr.18.

A total of 18,95,056 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in Mysuru-Kodagu(Coorg) LS Constituency of which 9,50,087 are women, 9,44,819 men and 150 others with women outnumbering men.

The Assembly Segment wise number of voters is: Madikeri – 2,21,359, Virajpet – 2,19,682, Periyapatna – 1,83,717, Hunsur – 2,26,960, Chamundeshwari – 3,02,823, Krishnaraja – 2,43,736, Chamaraja – 2,33,331, Narasimharaja – 2,63,448.

Out of eight Assembly Segments, Chamundeshwari tops in number of voters while Periyapatna has the least number of voters. Women voters out number men in Madikeri, Virajpet, Krishnaraja (KR), Chamaraja and Narasimharaja (NR) Segments.

As per the revision of voters list effected till Mar.29, which was the last day to withdraw nominations, a total of 37,343 new voters have been included in the list.

Mysuru-Kodagu LS Constituency has a population of 24,85,502 including 5,59,445 of Kodagu district, with 12,48,165 women and 12,37,336 men. Karnataka State has a population of 7,01,65,991 of which 5,03,07,182 would vote which amounts to 71.7% of population. In Mysuru-Kodagu LS Constituency 74.74% of the population are eligible to vote with a break up of 76.72%  in NR, 67.1% in Chamaraja, 71.63% in KR, 88.64% in Chamundeshwari, 66.88% in Hunsur, 77.16% in Virajpet and 78.09% in Madikeri.

2,187 Voting Booths

A total of 2,187 Booths have been established in Mysuru-Kodagu LS Constituency. 269 in Madikeri, 274 in Virajpet, 235 in Periyapatna, 274 in Hunsur, 338 in Chamundeshwari, 270 in KR, 245 in Chamaraja and 282 in NR Constituencies.
