A musical fountain will come up at Raja’s Seat, Madikeri, which will be bigger than the musical fountain at KRS in Mysore.
The government has released Rs 35 lakh for the beautification of Raja’s Seat and its surroundings.
The computerized musical fountain project has been entrusted to a Bangalore-based firm which had been associated with the musical fountain project at Brindavan Gardens at KRS.
The musical fountain will have an array of seven different types of music, including folk music, Hindi pop songs and Kodava tunes.
Devotional songs on Cauvery and a song on late Field Marshal F.M. Cariappa’s march are special attractions. On special days like January 26, August 15, patriotic songs will be played.
The other projects being planned around Raja’s Seat, include an amphitheatre at a cost of Rs. 4 lakh, new granite chairs and fencing.
The projects will be ready by next April, to coincide with the next horticultural show.
Raja’s Seat was the spot from where Coorg kings of yore watched sunsets with their consorts. The spot offers a breathtaking view of towering hills, green valleys, studded with paddy fields
