The Contractors fearing penalties by the Govt and the onset on monsoon are working on a break neck speed to complete the makutta road that links Coorg with Kerala, through Kannur. They have assured that the road will be completed in June before the monsoon catches up.
The road passes through the Brahmagiri reserve forest range and Nagarhole National Park. The road receives heavy traffic from Kerala as it is a short cut to Mysore through Coorg. Makutta has also been in news for many illegal activities in the past.
