Newindpress | MADIKERI: Allegations against the Karnataka Kodava Sahihtya Academy are baseless, said its chairperson Ulliyanda Doti Pooviah.
Addressing the media in Madikeri she said “I cannot cheat people without conducting the programmes after printing invitations.” Doti Pooviah said that it is a misconception that the the grant of Rs 15 lakh will be spent for the alone. She said the grant will be utilized for conducting programmes throughout the year, she said.
Doti Pooviah also said that those who raise allegations should asses the quality of the programmes conducted by the Academy and then speak about it. She also listed out the programmes conducted by the academy which has won wide appreciation from community members.
These programmes have been helping the younger generation to know more about the culture of the community, she added.
