CNC to hold Satyagraha in New Delhi on Nov. 1

Codava National Council (CNC) has decided to hold a Satyagraha on Nov.1 on Parliament Street in New Delhi to highlight the demand for Codava Quest for autonomy, said CNC President N.U. Nachappa.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Nachappa said that volunteers, hailing from different parts of Kodagu, clad in traditional costume, will participate in the Satyagraha. Read More

As per the Codava calendar, Codava National Council (CNC) celebrates Codava new year Edmyar 1 on 14th April 2014 . But as 14 April falls on Monday, ploughing of paddy fields is not done on that day according to Codava tradition. Hence the ploughing of paddy field by CNC was advanced to 13th April Sunday. CNC celebrates 19th as “National Day”
