Super Division Hockey League kick starts at Madikeri

For the first time, the Super Division Hockey League is being played in Coorg. The matches will be played  on the synthetic turf at the SAI ground at Madikeri. The league was inaugurated by MLC Nanaiah yesterday.
A total of 14 teams from IOCL, BPCL, Fortis, Army XI Red, Canara Bank, KSP, Army XI Green, MEG, ASC, IAF, Cntral Excise, HAL, SAI and MLI shall participated in the tournament. Read More

Government Cancels 2 Crore Grant to Ashwini Nachappa’s sports academy

Ashwini Nachappa’s plan to start a athlectics academy in Coorg has met a set-back.
The Karnataka Government has withdrawn the 2 Crore grant to the academy after certain local bodies and politicians
from Coorg opposed the move accusing that Mrs.Nachappa is doing so for personal gains.
