Senior Advocate and KPCC Legal cell president, A S Ponnanna has warned the govt to remove the 1.5 stamp duty being asked to be paid in Coorg for zero interest loan sanction. The same is not being asked for to be paid in other districts , he claimed. This is a clear case of discrimination and if the govt is not ready to listen to the requests of the farmers, then he will approach the courts, he said. Farmers in Coorg are facing the issue is because the govt considers coffee as a cash crop.
