Kodagu gets first Lady Police Chief

Vartika Katiyar, a native of Uttar Pradesh and an officer of the  2010 batch  took over as the Superintendent of Police of Kodagu on Tuesday. Vartika had  earlier  served at Gokak in Belagum as a  probationary officer.

Vartika’s husband Nithin Katiyar is an Indian  Foreign Service (IFS) officer and is currently posted at the Indian Consulate in   Kabul, Afghanistan. The couple have a nine-month old child.

The out going SP  M.N. Anucheth  handed over charge to the incumbent in the SP’s chamber in Madikeri.  Anucheth has proceeded to Chitradurga as its new Superintendent of Police. Speaking to  the media Anucheth said that he was happy with his tenure in Kodagu and was looking forward to his new posting with interest.
