KGB refutes allegations that he is trying to advice the Govt to do away with the Jamma Land tenure in Coorg.
Assembly Speaker and Virajpet MLA K.G. Bopaiah alleged that certain vested interests were spreading rumours and attempting to tarnish his image. The speaker said that he and Madikeri MLA Ranjan Appachu were making an honest efforts to clear all the hurdles regarding the contentious jamma baane issue.
He further added that certain organisations and individuals who could not do any thing positive regarding the jamma issue are creating confusion and panic among jamma baane land holders.
The speaker was of the opinion that all interested parties should sit together and chalk out a responsible response to the problem.
Mean while A.K. Subbaiah commanded the efforts of the speaker in convening a meeting of the Revenue Secretary to thrash out the problems related to baane lands. He clarified that there is no proposal before the government cancel Jamma rights.
