Headbanging on Tadiandamol ?

CC Staff

Last time it was 2 Tigers on Prowl near Tadiandamol, come 11th of November and the head bangers will be on the prowl there.  This one made me giggle to myself.  Kishor wrote about Storm Festival.  Seems Storm Festival is something of a woodstock kind of festival for hard rock music lovers.  And this time it is being hosted in India and that too in Coorg,  1750 meters above on Tandiandamol.

I was wondering how is it possible for anyone to have such an event in a reserve forest? Doesn’t Tadiandamol and the area surrounding it comes under Pushpagiri or Brahmagiri Wildlife Sactuary ?

Secondly, the area has herds of elephant. And there have been instances in the past when trekkers had to leave their camps and run for cover. What about security ?

Plus lately the attitude of the elephants have gone a drastic change(for worse) with the drastic depletion of the forest cover and Man-Elephant conflict in Coorg has sky rocketed. Read: Elephants on Rampage in Kodagu .

I personally doubt that the festival is being hosted on Tadiandamol,  it seems seems to be in a location near the mountain called Bamboo Fields, as mentioned on their official website.

The Title on their website is also quite interesting…”Create a Strom in the Midst of Mother Nature”.  Lets see if Mama Nature and her denizens appreciate that or not.

Hi,
First of all, it is not a head banging Festival. I would really appreciate if you get your facts right.
Storm Festival is a 2 day camp out Music Festival. It is not a rave nor is it a Hard Rock Music Festival. It is just a clean Music Festival and is being held in a private property in Napoklu and not in Tadiandamol.
All permissions fromall authprities concerned is bring procured. The organisers of the Festival are from Coorg and understand and Storm Festival is a plastic free Festival.
Please visit the site http://www.stormfestivalindia.com for more details

Thankfully, and understandably it is not held in reserve forest area, I and am sure we SHOULD not even think of conducting a hi octane music festival in such a place. It is happening near to Thadiandamol, its not that close. This is happening in a place where civilization is present. But still, knowing Coorg, you will agree that any place in Coorg is amidst mother nature! We respect mother nature and we promise we would not do anything that would hurt nature. on the contrary we will do a lot of activities to increase the awareness about nature and… Read more »
