    It was during Gundu Rao’s time when Coorg was being ripped apart by the timber mafia. I recall, the area around Lingaraja’s Tomb was also being encroached upon and the state machinery was a mute spectator at that time. Only when the whole of madikeri came to street demonstrating their frustation was when the babu’s flung into action. Affirmative action from the karnataka govt seems to lacking a lot when issues regarding kodagu are concerned. The culture, tradition and the land of our ancestors is in grave danger.
