Under the leadership of N.U.Nachappa codava, a Codava National Council delegation met the Union Minister for Tribal affairs Kaanthilal Bhuria on 1st Nov 2010 at Sashtri Bhavan New Delhi and apprised him on the inclusion of the Codava community under article 340 and 342 of the constitution of India as an ethnolinguistic, national minority tribal group. The Minister agreed to recommend the subject in favour of the Codavas. The delegation comprised 40 codava and codavathies and he assured them that he would take up the matter with the Chief Minister of Karnataka. During the meeting.
