MLA urges students to emulate martyrs

Speaking at the 64th Independence Day celebration organised by national festival committee in Junior College Grounds  in Somwarpet MLA Appachu Ranjan said that Independence Day is also a day of remembering great leaders like Gandhiji, Nehru, Azad, Bhagat Singh, Savarkar and others who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Hoisting the Tricolor, tahsildar A. Devaraju said that naxals and terrorists are posing a threat to the integrity of the nation and everyone should be aware of this and help the Government in curbing it. The tahsildar further added that the Government had introduced many welfare schemes for the people and called upon them to make optimum use of it.

TP President K.M. Lokesh Kumar and TP chairperson Nalini Ganesh also spoke.

Retired Majors M.K. Mandappa and Thomas Vas were felicitated. Bar Association President M.B. Abhimanyu Kumar, BEO B.K. Shivanna, St. Joseph’s school principal Ronald Govius and others were present.
