Nishanibetta
Trek ( 1 Day Itinerary )
Nishanibetta
offers the finest general view of Mercara(Madikeri)
and its surroundings. Arrive in Coorg, rest or
freshen up and then we leave for trek to Nishanibetta,
which is a 10 km ridge walk which connects the
mountains to the highest peak. A great part of
the trek is next to the remains of the war trenches
called Cadangas built by the ancestors of Coorgs.
These trenches are one of the most ancient war
trenches ever known to humankind. Cadangas in
the past stretched over hills, woods and flat
lands for miles and miles in various directions;
encompassing the whole of Coorg, even encricling
hill tops.
Coffee
Plantations, Brahmagiri Hills& Buddhist Monastery
Itinerary (1 Day Itinerary)
After
breakfast we drive to coffee estate, and have
a walk around the estate.
Drive to Nalaknad palace ( in ruins now ).It was
the summer place of the king at the foothills
of Thadiyandamol, highest peak in Coorg. Its one
of the most modest palaces, you may have ever
seen.:) During the royalty days, it was one of
the finest jungle hideouts of the king.
Spend some time along a stream and enjoy nature.
On the way back visit an ancient temple (optional)
drive on to Bhagamandla a holy town at the foothills
of Talacauvery.
After lunch, drive up to Talacauvery the birth
place of river cauvery, this is a beautiful drive
with spectacular view.
Walk up to Brahmagiri hills, where it’s
said: on a clear day one could see Arabian Sea.
If interested a small walk could be done around
the place.
Drive back to Madikeri and visit abbey falls a
beautiful falls around 10km from the town on the
way back visit king’s tomb an archeological
structure.
Return home, have dinner by campfire.
Nagarhole
National Park, Rafting, Dubare Elephant
Camp & Buddhist Monestery Itinerary ( 2 Day
Itinerary )
1st
Day.
After
breakfast drive to Dubare reserve forest around
8.00 am. Take a boat ride to Dubare forest.
Participate in elephant interaction camp where
you bathe the elephant, feed them and go on elephant
ride.
Optional – those who do not wish to do the
above activity can opt for going down on a short
ride on river cauvery in a raft (still water rafting),
take a dip in the river and walk back along the
island through ancient temple or can take up both
the activities.
Drive to Tibetan settlement and visit the Buddhist
monastery
Lunch on the way and drive to Cauvery Nisragadama,
which is a small island along the banks of river
cauvery (optional).
Drive back to Madikeri visit the fort, which is
in the center of the town, which holds a museum.
Walk in the town and shopping if interested.
Drive back home rest and dine.
2nd
Day.
Drive
to Nagarhole national park and go on a safari
.
Trek up to Irpu falls, one of the finest water
falls in Coorg.
Lunch on the way. Visit coffee estate on way back.
Monsoon
Itinerary: ( 1 Day Itinerary )
Finish breakfast, leave for trek to nishanibetta.
Itinerary involves a 10 km ridge walk, which connects
the mountains to the highest peak, this trek would
be for the adventurous, who would like to experience
heavy rains and strong winds while they walk through
mist covered mountains.
Note: Raincoats are provided by us.
To

- Transportation
from the accommodation, guide charges, etc are
included.
- Food
is not included in every itinerary. We shall
be transporting the client to any restaurant
of their choice, in the vicinity. The client
pays for breakfast, lunch and dinner during
the tour, unless specified.
- Some
homestays serve food, some don’t.
- Once
back, depending on the homestay, you can go
out for dinner or request for the dinner to
be served or bought to you.
- Some
Itineraries that involve trekking through
hills and valleys are suitable only for people
in good health condition.
