According to a report in Deccan Herald:

A proposal of Rs 60 crore has been sent to the Centre for the development of Mysuru, Mandya, Kodagu and Chamarajanagar as part of the Cauvery Mega Tourism Circuit.

Govt is also looking for private investment. The Minister for Tourism R V Deshpande said that “they have received interest from six to seven corporate firms in this regard”.

According to the report in The Hindu:

While on one hand the govt is worried about the mushrooming of “resorts and homestays near forest areas”,  the Department of Tourism would “identify places where private resorts could be set up and the proposal would be sent to the Forest Department for clearance”.
