Govt Committee visits Coorg to study the possibility of an Alternative Route for the Power Line

Deccan Herald reported that the 3 Member Expert Panel constituted by the State Govt to study the possibility of finding a alternative route are in Coorg. The members visited Maldare and collected public opinion regarding the project. They also met representatives of various  local Organisations in Coorg. The public and organisations have made their opposition to the project very clear.

According to the Report, the Committee Head Mr.Aradhya said that

many factors like environment.  “technical feasibility” and “project expenditure” will have to be taken into consideration while finding an alternate route. They will submit the the report in a month to the Govt.

CPRI Additional Director (High Voltage Division) Shivakumar Aradhya, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Ajay Mishra and Elephant expert Sukumaran are part of the committee.
