Cardamom prices fall as harvesting nears

Business Standard is reporting that Cardamom prices are falling as stocks pour into auction houses. From Rs658/kg in the last week, it fell to Rs 558/kg yesterday. The report further states that imports from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Guatemala are hurting the prospects further.  According to the report, growers allege that 70% of the Cardamom arriving from Guatemala is smuggled into India.
